Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
What if we did not wait until the end of life to focus on the core of our faith?
What if prayer was Simpler?
Matthew 6:7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
Father
You are good
I need help
They need help
Thank You
Matthew 6:8 for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
In Jesus’ name Amen
John 16:24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete
1. Your will be done
Your will be done on earth as it in heaven.
Matthew 26:39 Jesus prayed it: Yet not as I will, but as you will."
2. Remember me
Luke 23:39-43 One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!” 40 But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? 41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.” 42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
3. “Open the eyes of my heart”
Ephesians 1:18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.
2 Kings 6:17 Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.
4. Receive my spirit
Acts 7:59-60 While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he fell asleep.
5. Lord Save Me
Matthew 14:29-30 Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water, and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
6. I want to see
Mark 10:51 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.”
7. We have no wine
John 2:3 When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”
When pieces don't fit in life ... take it to Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Prayer is powerful not because of HOW we pray, but because of the one who hears
